There is no place for any one to fuel one side or the other in an internal affair of another country. That should be their business alone. The situation in Libya is one example of where tax payer money is being used to finance the fight against Khaddafi. There are people up at the government level using your money to fight some foreign leader, and most likely the reason for this is oil.
This is not the first time this is brought up, but the United States are certainly very much up in Libya's business right now but not in Saudi Arabia's business. Even though the Saudi house has been doing much more damage to its people than pretty much any other Arabic country no one seems to call the United States out on this hypocrisy. It's clearly about oil, since the Saudis provide massive amounts of oil to the United States. Also not a word from Obama on the situation in Bahrain, where Saudi troops are fighting off the rebels - but the rebels are supported in Libya.
Calling for a little consistency here.

Japanese people receiving help from big business? Why?
Priviet.
The Japanese people are struggling now, and hundreds of thousands are evacuated. A lot of big companies have given aid to the Japanese people. But their intention is not primarily to help the people, it's to get their company a good reputation. People need to have this in mind whenever big companies "help out" poor areas. Of course it helps - but take their kindness with a grain of salt.

The downsides of the No-Fly zone
Priviet.
The No-Fly zone implemented this night by the UN is wellmeaning but may have unwanted side effects. Obviously, its meaning is to destroy Khadaffi's attempt to brutally kill the rebels - but the rebels should not want too much foreign intervention. This is THEIR struggle to overthrow Khadaffi and he will be gone in a few months or sooner no matter what. So is it really our responsibility to help in the process of overthrowing Khadaffi? Why should we be involved in domestic affairs of other nations?
One has to ask oneself the question: Who benefited?
It is clear that most countries in the UN voted to benefit their own needs and the concern for the people of Libya are motivated to benefit themselves.

Gender Roles
Priviet.
A lot of feminists talk about gender roles. They say that these gender roles are made up. But if you take a good look at nature, you see gender roles in many animals as well, including pretty much all mammals. For example, female hyenas are far superior to the male hyenas - much due to their high level of testosterone (and they also look like male hyenas - if you know what I mean). Penguin males watch over the egg while the female provides food. There are many examples of gender roles in nature, and that's the way evolution has shaped these creatures. This applies to the human race as well, so why should we deny these facts?
An argument can be made that we are more knowledgeable than we were before and should therefore not give in to our animalistic instincts, but one has to acknowledge that the gender roles are NOT made up. They have been a part of our heritage and it's absolutely natural. So these feminists must disregard evolution and modern science to support their thesis - and they don't seem to have very much knowledge of evolutionary psychology.
This of course is not meant to discourage female rights, but merely to argue against the "gender role" argument.
